Next, he took me to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. It was delish! From there, we went bowling- this was the second part of our first date and a very memorable part. I told Allan to park at Target on our first date b/c it was in walking distance to the bowling place and it was free. Well, we came back and his car was gone. There was a town car with a man eating McDonald's conveniently parked there saying he would give us a ride for $40- it was like 2 miles!!! So, we didn't have many options. We both left our phones since it was our first date and all. We went to pick up his car which was over $100. So an already not so cheap date turned out to be a $300-$400 date. O well- I am worth it! :) At the bowling alley he gave me another charm for my bracelet. It was a "C". My last name started with a C and so did his, so I thought that was cute. While we were at the bowling alley I told him, "this date is really sweet and romantic, you should have saved this for the day you propose." On our way home we stopped at the place we shared our first kiss and he began his sweet talking. I starting getting kind of excited and nervous and he told me to close my eyes. He gave me another charm and told me to guess. I had no idea and I guessed a dog bone. HA! Well, I opened my eyes and the charm was engraved with W.Y.M.M. and immediately I knew. As he got down one 1 knee, I don't even really remember all the words b/c at this point I was shaking and crying, but I remember they were the most beautiful words ever!
On April 10, 2010 we said "I do" on the beautiful beaches of Key Largo in front of 60 of our closest friends and family. It was a weekend full of fun, sun, cocktails, family, friends and love. My dad walked me down the isle, my dogs were in the wedding, we both boo hoo'd, the weather was absolutely perfect and everything felt so right! I know I am biased, but it was one of the best weddings I have ever been to. All 60 people were dancing at once, from our 2 year old neice to my 88 year old Grandma. After the reception ended we all hung out at the rooftop bar till the wee hours of the next morning. Allan and I left a little before the rest to enjoy our moment, but it was truely a wonderful experience. I had always dreamed of getting married and this was everything I could have ever hoped for.
Dear my husband, my best friend, my lover, my everything-

From the moment I met you I felt something very special, but when I was very sick in the hospital having my colon out- throwing up and crapping all over myself and the nurses (gross I know, but I was really, really sick), you were there to hold my hand, to watch me fall asleep, to bring me a bucket. You didn't leave my side and you didn't run afterwards either. You stuck around through the blood clots and the very long recovery and you did all of this after only a few months of dating.
I love our life together and I love you so much! I admire you and I know I can be hard on you sometimes, but I am your biggest fan. I love how you work a drill, I love your amazing heart, I love your silly side, I love how you always put us(your family) first, how you stand up for me and believe in me, how you believe in us. I cannot wait to spend forever with you and I look forward to continuing down our journey together. We have some very exciting years ahead.
Happy 1 year anniversary!
Thanks everyone for reading. My marriage is the most important thing to me in my life, so I know this was a long post, but it was a chance for me to reminisce about my journey to becoming husband and wife.
Cheers!
